The Vibraswitch EURO366 is sensitive to vibrations that occur in an axis (detection axis) perpendicular to its base plate (see Fig. 4-1).
The instrument contains a device for the detection of vibrations, which also acts as a mechanical amplifier. This operates a microswitch when
the intensity of the vibrations exceeds the threshold set by the user during calibration.
The mechanism for detecting vibrations consists of an elastically suspended lever, which is prevented from moving freely by a permanent magnet (lower magnet). Under "normal" conditions, the lever is pressed against a retaining screw by the lower magnet.
By setting this retaining screw, a precisely defined air gap is created between this retaining screw and the (calibrated) magnet. On the other side of the lever, one of the forces exerted by the
Attraction of the lower magnet is opposite. Every time the lever is exposed to an inertial force (mass x acceleration) due to vibration peaks that is greater than the adjustable spring force, the lever releases from the lower magnet and strikes the upper magnet (alarm position). At the same time, a microswitch is operated by the lever.
The Vibraswitch Mod. EURO366 was developed to protect rotating, oscillating or otherwise moving machines from serious damage as a result
malfunctions, which are noticeable through increased vibrations.
The Vibraswitch is equipped with a reset coil, which can be operated with direct or alternating current, depending on the customer's requirements, in order to avoid a possible triggering of an alarm when the monitored machine starts up.
